How It Works
As many of us are aware the UK have faced a housing crisis over the past few years. Homelessness has increased significantly in recent years attracting much media and political attention… but why is this? London is by far the worst affected for both rough sleepers and temporary accommodation. However, as of 2017/18 there were 216,000 long term (more than 6 months) vacant properties throughout the UK. Reloc8 UK are assisting to help all those eligible applicants to find properties that are suitable and affordable for their needs. We always consider support, local amenities, schools etc when placing an applicant.
We procure properties from landlords and managing agents throughout the UK. We have specific requirements before they can be accepted namely:
- Rent at LHA rate
- Valid compliance certificates sent
- HHSRS inspection carried out
We always make sure the property is to a good condition before accepting it for our applicants, the majority of our staff off HHSRS qualified and are able to conduct inspections. In certain instances, a council officer may also inspect if a client has specific needs.
Council officers will always carry out an eligibility assessment to make sure they can move out of London and be able to sustain their own tenancy. Once this is established, the applicant will go through a rigorous affordability check and if they are able to sign a tenancy agreement it will mean they have satisfied the right to rent criteria.
The applicant is then referred to us and we arrange and conduct the move, usually meeting them at the property and making sure they have everything they require. We continue our support with the applicant for as long as the duration of the tenancy this includes; assisting with finding jobs, setting up benefit claims and school applications.
